Recommend-a-blog (7)

John Lennox is an Irish mathematician, philosopher of science and Christian apologist.

The latter two are instantly evident from any visit to the home page of his website, where a plethora of interviews, videos and articles demonstrate his interest in atheism, creation, evolutionary theory and the coexistence of faith with science, among others.

That Lennox is a mathematics professor is not as obvious until you get into the articles and video, but his Irishness is inescapable.

For those who have not seen him in action, Professor Lennox possesses a keen intelligence and years of experience grappling publicly with the theories of Stephen Hawking and debating the likes of Richard Dawkins.

Lennox is at his best in the interview format. He has a gentle, moderate and winsome way of presenting the truths of scripture that I find very compelling, especially on video. If it’s possible to ruffle his feathers, I haven’t seen it yet. Here’s a sample:

Two recent articles by Conrad Black written just after he interviewed Professor Lennox are also of interest. You won’t find the phrase “diaphanous piffle” too many other places.

And the “Resources” section of www.johnlennox.org is especially recommended for anyone interested in attacking or defending the Christian faith.

Atheists, you will want to know what you’re up against.
