He Said She Said, Then They All Said (2)

A post from August 2023 generated a record number of responses, many of them intense. I thought it was time to share the entire comment string, which would otherwise go largely unnoticed by our readers, since many were written long after the post’s original publication date. This is the second of two posts.

Many of the commenters are writing in a second language, so some comments are more comprehensible than others. I have cleared up a few typographic errors and inconsistencies in the interest of clarity, which I trust their authors will forgive.

Years ago, on my first visit to the Oslo fellowship I met two unique individuals that left a lasting impression. These two were born and bred in the Smith Friends fellowship, and most likely had heard the gospel in the womb. What was special about these two brothers was their attitudes and the Spirit they came with. They were servants, and they served the Lord with joy, and a moderation where you sensed they were not judging you, but their behavior had the Spirit’s come! In other words, they had wisdom. Olav Bekkevold really was special. When I saw him driving in Oslo, I could sense he was in the Spirit as he motored by! In America, Bob Dylan wrote a famous anti-war song about Where Have All the Soldiers Gone? Gone to graveyards, everyone! Where is Olav Beekevold and Trygve Olsen today? How could the church of Smith Friends turn on them and betray them, and deceive them?

In America, I watched for 30 years brothers come to this church, get gripped, and begin serving. Many secondary brothers in leadership fought the battle for years, but as time went by, they found themselves with very little support, no affirmation, and the backbiting and slander sticking its ugly head up a lot. Why? Other than Eve being vain and listening to the snake, I can’t think of a better example than Cain being jealous of Abel. Jealousy is dangerous! People kill for it. So instead of encouraging and giving explicit affirmation, these brothers were undermined, denigrated, lied to, and seriously abused.

It all comes from the House of Smith. Sigurd Bratlie joined this house. Jealousy suited him as he climbed to the top of Smith Friends. John talks about Diotrephes that he is a bullying malatrope; ditto. Aksel Smith was not a whole lot better. When you went to him for counseling or encouragement, he met you with an air of and attitude of “Don’t waste my time, and why do I have to lower myself to speak to the likes of you?” Kindness was not a part of his method or message. He spoke over and over again about righteousness, but he was not a just man. He had no compassion, no mercy, and a very toxic attitude to the extent that I believe Jesus himself would say to this brother, “You are not just when you condemn others you deem as weaker, and who are you to judge and condemn them?” Hypocrisy is really Kabuki Theater with some nasty characters, believe me.

The real problem is how subtle all this hypocrisy is, and how much time it takes to separate the truth from a partial truth. It can take years to discern. Ask God for wisdom to discern and discover the truth for yourself. He will help you. King David says he knew more than all his teachers and advisers because he dug deep into God’s word and found answers. Good luck, and if anybody says it can’t be done, you are wasting your time, don’t be a fool; they said the same things to Jesus as he was growing up. Narcissistic puffed-up individuals are toxic and are bereft of the Spirit of hope, the Spirit of faith, and the Spirit of love where Jesus says, “Nothing shall be impossible for you!”

Jesus tells us a parable about a man traveling who gets waylaid by robbers. Jesus praises the altruism of the Samaritan for “his kindness” to go out of his way to help save this man. The Priest and the Levite had no empathy to offer the distressed man. Why?

Kindness is something that cannot be faked. People can smile and pretend to be nice but if adversity comes the fake facade vanishes quickly. Genuine kindness and authentic goodness are a work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Kind people are not proud and arrogant, self-important or puffed up. (They know the truth about themselves, and they own humility.)

They love because it’s Jesus’s commandment, and they love because they know how much kindness can do to help others forward. Their heart and attitude is altruistic and wants to see that the others prosper and are covered and defended so that they begin to thrive. It is the magic bullet. If you have spiritual heft and discernment, you know how important it is to God that you use your gifts to bolster and enhance the opportunities and possibilities of those coming up behind you. If you are an egotist, you are blind to this truth, and God is against you.

Kindness is altruistic and these people know it is the key to move others forward into a godly spiritual life. It can’t be faked. But most people only pretend. God says their love and goodness just evaporates and they become hypocrites because hypocrisy is all you are left with if there is no real kindness. Paul says it another way: If you don’t have it, you are a big fat zero because “love suffers long and is kind!” I didn’t make this up, it’s written.

Jesus said, “If they hate you, they hated me first!” If we live the truth, he says we will be persecuted. So ungodly people can’t understand where we are coming from because it’s spiritual. But spiritual people, especially people who are born princes of the church, with a silver spoon dangling from their mouths, and who after 50, 60, 70, 80 years of experiences with God should by now have a level of wisdom, understanding, and spiritual insight, but they don’t, while they pretend they do. When it is manifest that church leaders do not have wisdom and instead are actively trying to hide what they are doing behind closed doors, then you get deception, and the truth departs. And when you get deception smart people are going to scream FOUL! FRAUD! LIAR! This is why Mr. Smith is under the microscope, his words are not believable, and folks throw him out. If the leaders of Smith’s Friends had truly been gripped with the life of Jesus, they would have lived just like Jesus, and they would have a boatload of mercy, good fruits, divine wisdom, and divine love. Do they? My son in law became a doctor. The church leaders stood in line and demanded he pay $4,000.00 per month to the church as a member. This manifests the ignorance and greed of these so-called leaders. This is how they get rich on the backs of those THEY are supposed to be serving. This is hypocrisy! Hypocrites! Bad actors! Evil clowns! I honestly and sincerely believe that if Johan Oscar Smith knew now what they are doing, he would vomit!

Jesus said “About you I have much to say and much to condemn; but the One who sent me is truthful, and what I have learned from him, (truth), I declare to the world.” Kora Smith distorted and corrupted Jesus’s truth for his own personal gain and profit and he did it to children.

What really happened when Korah the great grandson of Levi in Numbers decided to revolt and rebel against his cousin Moses and the great Lord God Yahweh? Well, it didn’t go well. Korah was given a leadership position in Israel, but in his mind, it wasn’t enough, and he wanted more, in fact he wanted everything! This is how greed takes over. Some men have a huge appetite and selfish drive that propels them forward into selfish ambition, even to the point of lying and deceiving to get their own way. Korah’s complaint was “Where are the farms and vineyards that you promised!” And then he said, “We had milk and honey back in Egypt!” Really? Korah didn’t have a prophetic spirit. He couldn’t believe in God’s promise of a future promised land. He wanted it all NOW! And so, he tried to take it!

Korah belittled Moses, but he also exalted himself above the Lord God Yahweh, and the Lord God was not going to have any of it. Korah thought he knew better than Moses or God. This is a dangerous place to be. It is the same thinking that Lucifer had that drove him to do evil. This is why God had to take Korah and his 250 followers out.

Kora Smith took the teachings and doctrines of his grandfather and uncles and turned it all upside down. Churches that compete with one another over money and red or green worldly status. Money is now of extreme importance, gaming like bingo, nude bathing, huge multi-million dollar buildings erected to his ego, million-dollar hockey arenas to enhance competition that his uncles forbade, brothers running to other countries with suitcases full of “The Friends’ Money”, lies, deceit and misinformation meant to mislead, and now a “Spy Mystery!”

I don’t know if anybody else is watching, but the size and girth of this man is revealing an excessive lifestyle, a huge appetite for expensive food, expensive homes, luxury purchases, and hordes of cash hidden offshore. And now we see a sad man in his last days, obese, huge, and unwell. How will this end? Hopefully, he will get out of the way so genuine brothers can stand forth. If he doesn’t the earth may open its mouth and have something to say.

In the word of Yahweh in Ezekiel 13:3 we are told about false prophets who “make up prophecies out of their own heads!” The Lord Yahweh says this: “Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, without seeing anything! Like jackals in a ruin, so are your prophets, Israel.” God is angry with these wall plasterers who plaster the walls with games, art, and distractions, because they are presenting an illusion. It’s not the gospel of salvation, it’s all about money and outward wealth, not the victory of the inner life. It’s the gospel of riches: “You Work Hard and We Get Rich! “ Sounds absurd doesn’t it, but those who lead you have you believing this! THEY HAVE PROGRAMMED THE YOUTH TO BELIEVE A LIE. AND THE PROOF? Millions and millions and millions and millions of dollars/kroners that were made on the backs of the young people and then poof, it’s disappeared. There is nothing spiritual or good or edifying in any of this. IT’S ALL WRONG! AND WE KNOW WHO IS AT FAULT. GOD IS GOING AFTER THE JACKALS, AND HE ISN’T GOING TO ALLOW THEM TO KEEP GETTING RICH ON THE BACKS OF THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS ANY MORE. IT’S OVER!!!

The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows: “SON OF MAN, PROPHESY AGAINST THE PROPHETS OF ISRAEL; PROPHESY, AND SAY TO THOSE WHO MAKE UP PROPHECIES OUT OF THEIR OWN HEADS, HEAR THE WORD OF YAHWEH. THE LORD YAHWEH SAYS THIS: WOE TO THE FOOLISH PROPHETS WHO FOLLOW THEIR OWN SPIRITS WITHOUT SEEING ANYTHING! LIKE JACKALS IN A RUIN, SO ARE YOUR PROPHETS, ISRAEL! YOU HAVE NEVER VENTURED INTO THE BREACH (they have been missing in action) YOU HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO FORTIFY THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL (they have been too busy enriching the House of Smith) TO HOLD FAST IN BATTLE ON THE DAY OF YAHWEH! God is angry and he is going after the jackals. He is going to shut them down. Kora Smith because of his extreme arrogance has failed as a leader. God is going to institute new leadership, watch and see!

Reading this post, I believe the author has approach BCC with respect and wisdom, it’s actually a good assessment from a neutral point of view from the conflicting info on the web concerning BCC.

Regarding Kåre Smith, he is the most legit person I have ever dealt with. Honestly. It’s insane people speak like this about him. Perhaps because he doesn’t promote the LGBTQ+ agenda or works night and day to create an environment for young people to flourish away from the stained world of night clubs and drugs, people take issue with him.

Regarding BCC’s doctrine: One thing I might like to clarify is that BCC does NOT preach sinless perfection. They preach that we HAVE SIN, as stated in 1 John, but as also stated in 1 John we should not commit sin. If we do, we have an Advocate with the Father. But what they preach is overcoming sin in being faithful to God’s word and the Holy Spirit’s promptings and conviction. This is not all-inclusive, once-off or instantaneous. But they call ‘victory over sin’ what James describes as enduring temptation. We are not sinless, but have sin in the flesh, but in learning to deny one’s lusts and take up our cross, we are freed from the power of sin, and can stop committing that sin over time.

Any Christian denying this needs to read the Bible a little more. :)

Thank you for responding. I lived in the Oslo fellowship for 4 years. Victory over sin was preached, but selfish ambition was lived. And grudges were not hidden, which means that animosity was out in the open. It was an environment of competition and abuse. They claimed to be “dead to sin”, but in adversity, their pride and viciousness were on display.

Puffed up? Yes. Self-important? Yes. In the Spirit of Christ? No, Just arrogant.

Now these were the leaders. Others had a life in God, and others had the fruits of the Spirit. People can say anything they want, but to DO and BE a genuine disciple of Jesus takes a true heart, and people like this are hard to find. But when you find them, you can’t lose them, and who they have become through the grace of God. You can never un-know it, that’s how priceless they really are.
